RCB vs GT Final: The final match of IPL 2026 was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. A high-voltage drama was seen in this match. The whole uproar arose over Washington Sundar’s catch. Which the umpire declared not out.
Ruckus over Sundar’s catch
This incident was seen in the 10th over of Gujarat Titans’ innings when Jacob Duffy was bowling and Washington Sundar was on strike. Duffy bowled the last ball of the over a little short and tried to trap Sundar. Sundar tried to pull this ball which was pitched on the leg stump, but the timing was not right and the ball went in the air towards fine leg and Jordan Cox took the catch. The players present on the field started celebrating the wicket and Sundar also started returning towards the dugout. But the matter immediately reached the third umpire. In the replays, it was seen that Cox did not have control over the ball and the ball got stuck between his fingers and the ball was seen touching the ground. For this reason, the third umpire declared Sundar not out.

Rajat Patidar clashed with the umpire
Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Rajat Patidar also appeared upset with this decision of the umpire and was seen arguing with the umpire, because in real time this catch seemed very close. However, when the replays were seen in slow motion, it became clear that the ball was touching the grass, due to which Washington Sundar got a lease of life.
