Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) stormed to another comfortable victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to keep their IPL 2026 campaign moving in style. The bowlers started by setting the Chinnaswamy Stadium alight, headlined by Rasikh Dar’s wily spell of 4-0-24-4 to limit the Super Giants to 146. Later, Virat Kohli, playing as an impact player for the first time, top-scored with 49 as the Royal Challengers gunned down the target with 29 balls to spare.
Here are the key moments from the RCB vs LSG, IPL 2026 game
4) Rishabh Pant’s injury
While Rishabh Pant hadn’t opened his account in the first three deliveries he faced, the elbow injury severely disrupted whatever momentum the Super Giants had in the powerplay. The Super Giants’ captain had to walk off and returned to bat in the 16th over after Ayush Badoni’s wicket. However, he was only able to make a run before Phil Salt’s blinder sent him packing.
3) Mitchell Marsh’s dismissal
Mitchell Marsh had gathered some momentum even as the Super Giants had a barren powerplay. The West Australian was 40 off 31 deliveries with three fours and two sixes when he dragged on a delivery from Krunal Pandya. With Abdul Samad also at the crease, Marsh had the potential to kick on and make a big score to give the Super Giants a competitive total.
2) Nicholas Pooran’s dismissal
Nicholas Pooran, who hit sixes for fun in IPL 2025, had his rut continued in the IPL 2026 game against the Royal Challengers. To follow his scores of 8, 1, 13, and 19, he added only one more run to his tally as Josh Hazlewood cleaned the left-hander up with a slower delivery. The West Indian’s dismissal in the first over of the powerplay pushed the Super Giants further back.
1) Mukul Choudhary’s wicket
Mukul Choudhary had announced himself in style in the game against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), stunning the three-time champions with an onslaught for the ages. The right-handed batter had been steadily building up for another onslaught and started the 20th over with a six. But Rasikh Salam made a fabulous comeback to clean him up in the very next ball for 39. Choudhary’s presence until the end could have lifted LSG to at least 160.
