RCB vs SRH: Kohli on the threshold of creating history, will make world record as soon as he hits 9 sixes
The much-awaited IPL 2026 has started and in the very first match, Royal Challengers Bangalore is going to face Sunrisers Hyderabad. The center of biggest discussion of this match is Virat Kohli, who is seen in great form. Kohli is very close to making many big records in his name this season, due to which the curiosity of the fans has increased even more.
His performance against Hyderabad has always been strong, where he has scored more than 800 runs so far, which includes several half-centuries and a century. His strike rate has also been impressive, which reflects his aggressive batting.
9,000 run mark
Kohli is on the verge of becoming the first batsman in IPL history to cross the 9,000-run mark. So far, he has more than 8,600 runs in his name and he can reach this historic achievement in just a few innings this season. Considering his consistency over the last few seasons, this feat doesn’t seem too far off.
Apart from this, Kohli has a chance to create another unique record. He has scored more than 9,000 runs for Royal Challengers Bangalore and if he adds around 900 more runs this season, he will become the first player in the world to score 10,000 runs for a single franchise. No player has achieved this feat till now in T20 cricket, which makes it even more special.
Will create history as soon as he hits 9 sixes
Even in terms of sixes, Kohli is close to creating history. So far, he has hit 291 sixes for RCB and with just a few more big shots, he can become the first batsman to complete 300 sixes for a single team. This will be another major achievement in his long and successful career.
Kohli’s record at home ground Chinnaswamy Stadium has also been excellent. Here he has scored more than 3,200 runs and if he continues his good performance this season, he can become the first player to touch the 4,000-run mark on the same ground.
Apart from this, Kohli is already on top in terms of scoring 50 or more scores and he will have a chance to further strengthen this record. Overall, this season of IPL 2026 can prove to be historic for Virat Kohli, where he can set many big records.
