Real Madrid vs. Sevilla: Head-to-head record and past meetings ahead of Bernabeu showdown
Ahead of Sunday’s La Liga clash between Real Madrid and Sevilla, Buzz looks at the head-to-head record and previous meetings between the two clubs.
Fresh from winning the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, Real Madrid will return to La Liga action on Sunday afternoon, with Sevilla visiting Bernabeu for what is shaping up to be an interesting battle in Spain’s top flight.
The Whites beat Pachuca 3-0 on Wednesday to secure their second trophy of the campaign, but they were held to a 3-3 draw by Rayo Vallecano in their last domestic match, with the team currently third in the La Liga tableone point behind leaders Barcelona with a game in hand.
Sevilla, meanwhile, are 11th in Spain’s top flight, and Garcia Pimienta‘s team will enter the clash off the back of a 1-0 victory over Celta Vigo.
Here, Buzz takes an in-depth look at the head-to-head record and previous meetings between the two sides ahead of their top-flight contest in the Spanish capital this weekend.

Head-to-head record
Previous meetings: 190
Real Madrid wins: 104
Draws: 32
Sevilla wins: 54
These two teams have met on 190 occasions throughout history, and it is Real Madrid that lead the head-to-head record, having won 104 times to Sevilla’s 54, while there have also been 32 draws between the two teams.
Cristiano Ronaldo is comfortably the all-time leading goalscorer in this fixture, with the Portuguese netting an incredible 27 times against Sevilla during his time at Real Madrid.
Los Blancos have scored 404 goals against Sevilla, conceding 256, while they have unsurprisingly also been the dominant force in the La Liga meetings between the two sides, winning 87 of their 160 matches in Spain’s top flight, losing 45.
Sevilla beat Real Madrid twice in 2018, but they are currently on an 11-game winless run against the capital giants, suffering nine defeats in the process, including a 1-0 reverse at Bernabeu last term.
There has not been much to separate the two teams in their recent contests, though, with seven of Real Madrid’s last eight league wins over Sevilla coming by just the odd goal.
Not since December 2008 have Sevilla beaten Real Madrid away from home in the league, with the visitors triumphing in a seven-goal thriller.
Real Madrid have some big recent home wins over Sevilla to their name, meanwhile, notably a 5-0 success in December 2017 and a 7-3 triumph in October 2013.
