Real world games are necessary for children, not iPad, why OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said this
Desk. Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, believes that for young children, it is not technology but real-world activities that are important, such as playing outside, enjoying nature and spending time with loved ones among the sights. He says that children do not need iPads but it is more important for them to go out and play in the mud and do physical activities. This opinion of Sam Altman is slightly different from his earlier opinion and it is believed that this change has come after the experience with his own child. There has been a change in his perspective after becoming a parent himself.
It is interesting that as the founder of ChatGPIT and CEO of OpenAI, Sam Altman’s opinion becomes important that children’s habits and technology should not be mixed with each other too early. He believes that instead of giving maximum exposure to screens at an early age, children should spend more time in the real world. For this, children should be more busy in basic things like outdoor games and admiring the sights.
Sam Altman recently said this during a discussion on the Mostly Human podcast. He also expressed concern over the way children are spending more time on tablets, phones and iPads and said that when I see children who are older than my own and find it difficult to snatch the iPad from them, it makes me feel bad.
Although in the past, before having children of his own, Sam Altman did not have much problem in letting children use devices at an early age, but now his views have changed. He says that screens cannot be the focus of childhood and children should first be exposed to real life activities. This includes outdoor games, physical activities and exploring nature as much as possible. He says that he does not want his child to get addicted to iPad.
