Materials:

  • Fresh fenugreek leaves – 1 cup (finely chopped)
  • Gram flour – 1 cup
  • Rice flour – 2 tbsp
  • Green Chillies – 2 (finely chopped)
  • Ginger – 1 tsp (grated)
  • Garlic – 3-4 cloves (crushed)
  • Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
  • Red Chilli – 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander-cumin powder – 1 tsp
  • Salt – as per taste
  • A little coriander
  • Water – as required
  • Oil for frying

Action:

  • Combine chopped fenugreek, gram flour and rice flour in a bowl.
  • Add green chillies, ginger, garlic, turmeric, red chillies, coriander-cumin powder, salt and coriander and mix well.
  • Make a thick mixture by adding little water as needed. Do not let the mixture become too thin.
  • Heat oil in a pan. When the oil reaches the right temperature, drop small pieces of bread in the oil with your hands or a spoon.
  • Fry the vada on medium flame until golden and crispy.
  • Remove the fried vadas on a tissue paper to remove the excess oil.
