According to the Meteorological Department, there are chances of heavy rains with thunderstorms in Delhi between July 16 and 22. Rain may reduce slightly on 16th and 17th July, but after this the monsoon will gain momentum. The department has warned that due to heavy rains, there may be problems of waterlogging and traffic jams in low-lying areas. Therefore, before leaving home, check the latest weather updates so that you do not get into any trouble.

There will be torrential rain in these states

Heavy to very heavy rain will continue over large parts of North India for the next few days. Alert has been issued in many parts of Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. Heavy rain has been warned in Himachal Pradesh from 19 to 22 July, in Uttarakhand from 18 to 21 July and in Eastern Uttar Pradesh from 19 to 21 July. There will be a danger of landslides and road closure in hilly areas, while waterlogging may occur in the plains.

Monsoon movement across the country

Not only in North India, but also in Eastern and North-Eastern India, there will be heavy rain next week. There is a possibility of torrential rain in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal and North-East. Odisha may receive extremely heavy rain on July 16. At the same time, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Sikkim will also be greatly favored by monsoon.

There is no possibility of monsoon slowing down even in the last week of July. Monsoon will be active in North India and rains will continue from Jammu and Kashmir to Uttarakhand. However, except for parts of central and eastern India, rainfall is expected to be slightly below normal in most parts of the country. The Meteorological Department has advised to avoid traveling during inclement weather, lightning and strong winds and strictly follow the guidelines issued by the administration.
