Red alert of heavy rain in UP! Big warning for the people of these districts
Lucknow: Monsoon has once again become active in Uttar Pradesh and heavy rains have been predicted in many districts. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain, thunder and lightning in many areas including the southern and eastern parts of the state on July 22. In such a situation, people have been appealed to remain alert and follow weather related advisories.
Meteorologists say that due to the influence of the low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal, monsoon activities have intensified in the last few days. For this reason, good rainfall is being recorded in different parts of the state.
Possibility of heavy rain in these districts
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall may occur in many districts including Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Chandauli, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Aligarh, Mathura, Agra, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Mahoba, Banda, Hamirpur, Varanasi, Azamgarh and Gorakhpur. There is also a possibility of thunderstorm and lightning along with strong winds in these areas. Farmers, travelers and people working in open spaces have been advised to take special precautions.
Relief may be available from July 23
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there will be less possibility of heavy rain in most parts of the state between July 23 and 25. During this period, there are indications that the weather will remain relatively normal and no major warning has been issued at present. However, there will be a possibility of change in the weather, hence people have been advised to keep an eye on the updates issued from time to time.
Weather may change again from July 26
According to the forecast, monsoon may become active once again from July 26 and rainy season is likely to return in many areas of the state. If new weather systems become active, some districts may again record good rainfall.
