Red weather alert, dense fog on the roads… severe cold in UP for the next 7 days

Lucknow: Severe cold has entered Uttar Pradesh since the third week of December. Dense fog and cold wave have engulfed the entire Uttar Pradesh. Due to dense fog, all means of transport have been badly affected. Due to the cold day, people have been forced to remain confined to their homes. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of severe cold and dense fog for 7 days.

Holiday declared in many schools of UP, timing changed at some places: Due to severe cold, the number of cold patients has increased. Keeping this in view, the district administration has also made arrangements for night shelters and bonfires to save people from the cold. Along with this, DM has declared 3 days holiday in schools in Ambedkar Nagar, Sant Kabir Nagar, Farrukhabad, Rae Bareli. There have been changes in school timings in some districts.

Zero visibility in 3 districts of UP: The weather remained dry in Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hours. Dense fog was recorded at some places. According to the data received, the minimum visibility in the state was recorded at zero meter in Agra, Aligarh and Barabanki. Apart from this, cold to extremely cold days were recorded at some places.

Where was the cold day situation in UP: On Sunday, there was a severe cold day in the state during the day in Gorakhpur, Barabanki, Sultanpur, Ghazipur, Basti, Sonbhadra, Aligarh and Etawah. Cold day conditions prevailed in Varanasi, Bahraich, Hardoi, Ballia, Prayagraj, Ghazipur, Amethi, Moradabad, Jhansi, Hamirpur and Agra.

Dense fog alert in UP: The Meteorological Department has informed Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Kanpur Nagar, Rae Bareli, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Amethi, An alert has been issued regarding dense fog in Sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar and surrounding areas.

Lowest temperature districts of UP: In Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday the minimum temperature was recorded at 4.8 degrees Celsius in Barabanki, 7 in Hardoi, 6.4 in Kanpur Nagar, 6.6 in Etawah, 4.7 in Sultanpur, 5 in Ayodhya, 5 in Bareilly, 5.5 in Shahjahanpur, 7 degrees Celsius in Meerut.

The maximum temperature was recorded 19, while the minimum was 10 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be dense fog in Lucknow on Monday. The sky will be clear during the day. The maximum temperature is likely to be 20 and minimum 11 degree Celsius.

Sultanpur coldest: Sultanpur of Uttar Pradesh was the coldest district on Sunday, where the minimum temperature was 4.7 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature was recorded in Farrukhabad district at 21 degrees Celsius, which is one degree Celsius less than normal.

Weather of UP: Meteorologist Dr. Atul Singh said that fluctuations in maximum and minimum temperatures continue in Uttar Pradesh. This is happening due to the influence of the current Western Disturbance which is actively affecting the Western Himalayan regions and indirectly the plains of Northern India including Uttar Pradesh.
