Redmi 15A: Cheap 5G phone with 6,300mAh big battery launched in India, see features and price

Redmi 15A has been launched in India on Friday. It is the latest entry in the affordable smartphone range of the Xiaomi sub-brand. The new A series smartphone is available in three color options and has an octa-core 5G chipset. The Redmi 15A packs a massive 6,300mAh battery and sports a dual rear camera unit with a 32-megapixel main camera. The phone has a 6.9-inch display that supports refresh rates up to 120Hz. This is the price of Redmi 15A in India
The starting price of Redmi 15A has been set at ₹12,999 for the base variant with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. The 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model is available for ₹16,499 and the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is available for ₹14,499. It comes in Ace Black, Awesome Blue and Amaze Purple color options. The new Redmi 15A will be available from April 3 on Flipkart, Mi.com and Xiaomi authorized retail stores.

Specifications of Redmi 15A
The Redmi 15A is a dual-SIM phone and runs on Android 16 with HyperOS 3.0. Redmi has promised to provide Android updates for four years and security updates for six years. The phone also includes AI based features like Google Gemini, Circle to Search and Xiaomi Interconnectivity.

The phone has a 6.9-inch HD+ display, whose refresh rate varies between 60Hz, 90Hz and 120Hz. The screen supports touch sampling rate up to 240Hz and peak brightness up to 800 nits.

The Redmi 15A is powered by the T8300 5G octa-core SoC, which is built on a 6nm process and comes with Mali-G57 GPU. It has 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage. The RAM supports virtual RAM expansion, while the storage can be expanded up to 2TB via microSD card.

For photography, Redmi 15A has a dual rear camera, which includes a 32-megapixel main sensor (f/2.0 aperture) and LED flash. It has an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. The phone also has dust and water protection with IP52 rating.

Battery and connectivity
Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS/AGPS, Glonass, Galileo, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack, USB OTG, and USB Type-C port. Sensors like ambient light sensor, e-compass, proximity sensor and fingerprint scanner are also present in the phone. It also has stereo speakers.

The Redmi 15A packs a 6,300mAh battery, which supports 15W wired charging and 7.5W reverse charging. The company claims that this battery can be used for two days on a single charge. The size of the phone is 171.56×79.47×8.15mm and weight is 210 grams.
