Regimental reunion dedicated to valor and camaraderie held by 4th Gorkha Rifles – ..


Solan, 27 October (Hindustan Reporter). 4th Gorkha Rifles (4 GR), one of the prestigious regiments of the Indian Army, held its regimental reunion at Subathu, Himachal Pradesh on 26 and 27 October. The occasion celebrated a legacy of 167 years of valor, sacrifice and harmony.

The reunion was attended by veterans and their families from India and Nepal who revived old relationships and memories. More than five hundred serving officers, veterans and their families showed solidarity at the ceremony. Lieutenant General Mohit Wadhwa, Chief of Army Staff, Western Command also attended the event. He inspired all ranks to maintain the glorious history of the 4th Gorkha Rifles.

Major General Balbir Singh, Colonel of the 4th Gorkha Rifles, said that the regiment has a rich history, having played a key role in many important battles and operations before and after independence. He described this reunion ceremony as an important opportunity to provide a common platform to the experienced veterans of the golden past of the 4th Regiment and the future knights.

The celebrations included a floral tribute ceremony at the War Memorial, Barakhana, and cultural programs showcasing the rich traditions of the Gorkha Rifles. Apart from this, statues, annuities and souvenirs were also unveiled along with the Sainik Sammelan.
