Actually, in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had contested from Wayanad in Kerala and Rae Bareli seat in UP. Rahul won both the seats. Then, deciding to remain MP from Rae Bareli, he gave up his claim for Wayanad. When by-elections were announced for Wayanad seat, which is known as the Congress stronghold, Congress chose Priyanka Gandhi as its candidate.

Priyanka had entered the electoral fray for the first time. In such a situation, when Priyanka reached Wayanad to address the rally, her sons Rehan Vadra and Aviva Baig also became a part of the rally. While Priyanka was giving speech, Rehan and Aviva were also present among the Congress workers. By the way, both of them did not talk to the media during this period. Both left from there silently. Priyanka Gandhi won the Wayanad seat by a huge margin. He got more than 6 lakh votes.
