Reliance Foundation will provide financial support of $10 million to increase digital participation of women






Reliance Foundation, in collaboration with USAID and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) of the US, has announced a funding of US$10 million under the “Women in the Digital Economy Fund (WIDEF)”. This initiative aims to empower women in the digital economy in India and reduce the gender digital divide.

Isha Ambani, Director, Reliance Foundation, said, “WIDEF is a historic step of global cooperation and we are proud to be a part of this initiative. We are committed to promoting women's livelihoods, economic security and empowerment through technology.”

USAID-India's Acting Mission Director Dr. Alexandria Huerta described this partnership as important. She said, “This partnership between India and the US is an important step in eliminating the gender digital divide. Together with Reliance Foundation, we are working towards making millions of women benefit from the digital economy and their bright future.”
