Reliance Power banned for 3 years, know why action was taken against Anil Ambani's company
New Delhi: Solar Energy Corp of India (SECI) has banned businessman Anil Ambani's company Reliance Power Ltd and its subsidiary companies from bidding for any future tender for three years.
Why was the action taken?
This action has been taken by SECI because Anil Ambani's companies had submitted fake bank guarantees for the tender. SECI issued a statement on Thursday saying that fake bank guarantees were given by the company in the last round of bidding, after which these companies have been banned. SECI, a unit of the New and Renewable Energy Ministry, has also canceled the last round of bidding by Reliance Power's subsidiary company after finding irregularities in the bank guarantee.
What did SECI say?
The notice issued by SECI states that the documents submitted by the bidder Maharashtra Energy Generation Limited, now Reliance NU BESS Limited, were scrutinized and on the basis of this it was found that the bank guarantee required for the tender was not fulfilled. It was given, it is fake. Let us tell you that this irregularity was found after the e-reverse auction, hence SECI had to cancel the tender process also.

Banned for 3 years
In a statement issued by SECI, it was said that after a thorough investigation of the matter, it has been concluded that all the commercial and strategic decisions taken by the bidder company were taken by the parent company. On this basis, Reliance NU BESS and Reliance Power Limited (including its subsidiary companies) have been barred from participating in all future tenders. This ban will remain in force for 3 years.
