Mukesh Ambani is leading the consumer market through various channels like Trends, Digital, and Retail to tap into new business opportunities. The government aims to get shelves in Reliance Retail so that people can buy flour, rice, and other cereals at affordable prices. Consumers can purchase rice, flour, and pulses at prices of Rs 29 per kg, Rs 27.50 per kg, and Rs 60 per kg, respectively.

In an attempt to reach out to more people and provide them relief from inflation, the government is trying to engage Reliance Retail to sell bharat brand flour, rice and pulses. Reliance is running retail stores across the nation and the government wants to ensure the reach of products to common citizens through these stores.

As per a report published in Economic Times, the government is in talks with Mukesh Ambani’s company Reliance Retail for shelves so people can access the products at the cheapest price. The products will also be available through government vans at NAFED, NCCF and Kendriya Bhandaar.

It was observed that Bharat brand flour, rice, and pulses were temporarily available on e-commerce platforms such as Reliance’s Jiomart, Amazon, and Bigbasket.

According to sources, the Centre is also talking with D-Mart but Reliance and D-Mart have not made their official statement over the development yet. Sources further added that the government wants a long-term deal with these retailers to sell its products.
