Relief to Muslim employees in Ramadan, Chhattisgarh government took a big step
Chhattisgarh government has taken an important decision to provide relief to Muslim employees observing fast during the holy month of Ramzan. The state government has allowed Muslim employees working in government and semi-government offices to leave the office one hour before the scheduled time every day. In this regard, an official order has been issued by the General Administration Department, which will remain effective for the entire month of Ramadan. The objective of this decision is to provide adequate time to the fasting employees for religious duties and worship.
What was said in the order issued by the government?
In the order issued by the government, it has been clarified that this facility will be applicable in all government departments, boards, corporations and other semi-government institutions of the state. Employees will be able to leave the office one hour before their regular working hours, so that they can prepare for Iftar and participate in other religious activities. This arrangement has been implemented every year during Ramadan, which helps the fasting employees to balance between work and religious responsibilities.
Various social and religious organizations have welcomed this decision taken in the Bharatiya Janata Party ruled state. Chhattisgarh Waqf Board Chairman Salim Raj praised this step of the government and said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the sentiments of all religions and communities are being respected in the state. He said that this decision will promote social harmony and mutual respect. Salim Raj also said that this initiative is an example of strengthening Narendra Modi’s principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas”, in which all sections are given equal importance.
Before Chhattisgarh, other states of South India have also provided similar facilities to Muslim employees during Ramzan. The Telangana government has allowed its government employees to leave office one hour earlier, so that they can participate in the preparations for Iftar and Namaz. Similarly, Andhra Pradesh government has also issued an order to give relaxation of one hour in office timings for Muslim employees. The purpose of these decisions is to facilitate the employees in performing religious duties.
Telangana government took additional steps
The Indian National Congress government in Telangana has taken additional steps by allowing shops, hotels and other business establishments to remain open till 5 am. With this, essential commodities and food will be easily available to the people at the time of Sehri. Traders and hotel operators have also got relief from this decision, because business increases till late night during Ramadan.
Ramadan is considered to be the most sacred month of Islam, in which people of the Muslim community observe fast from sunrise to sunset. During this time they follow restraint, discipline and spiritual practice. Roza is broken with Iftar in the evening, while special Taraweeh prayers are offered in mosques at night. The objective of this month is to promote the spirit of self-purification, charity and social service.
