In the new system, they will have to deposit an additional amount of 15 percent of the annual property tax of their property as general trade license and storage charges.

According to officials, the move is aimed at simplifying the tax system and unifying the payment process. This will not only increase transparency, but is also expected to improve revenue collection. The new system will be implemented through the official website of MCD, where traders will be able to deposit all the relevant fees on a single platform.

Now General Trade License (GTL) and storage license fees have been clubbed with property tax. The corporation administration has issued an order in this regard effective from April 30.
