Sunetra Pawar has made a big announcement for the women employees working in Mumbai. While announcing in the Legislative Council, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra said that women employees in the city will be given the facility of ‘come early-go early’.

Mumbai: Maharashtra government has taken an important step and announced a new facility for women employees. State Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar has announced the implementation of the “come early-go early” system for women government employees working in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Under this new arrangement, women employees will get more flexibility in office timings and are expected to get relief from travel related difficulties.

This announcement was made during the special discussion of the Legislative Council held in Mumbai on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The Deputy Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to ensuring respect, safety and equal opportunities for women and this step has been taken in this direction.

Women employees will get relaxation of up to 30 minutes

According to the new arrangement, women employees working in Mumbai Metropolitan Region will be able to reach office between 9:15 am to 9:45 am and start their work. The more minutes she starts work earlier than usual, the more minutes she will be allowed to leave the office earlier in the evening. Under this system, women employees can get the freedom to leave the office up to a maximum of 30 minutes earlier. The government believes that this will reduce congestion and travel problems, especially during peak hours.

In a busy metropolis like Mumbai, millions of people use public transport every day. Women often have to face many difficulties during travel due to overcrowding. Deputy CM Sunetra Pawar said the “come early-go early” system is aimed at striking a better balance between women’s workplace and personal lives. This will not only make their journey easier but will also bring positive changes in their working environment.

Government’s emphasis on women empowerment

During the discussion in the Legislative Council, Sunetra Pawar said that many important suggestions have come forward for the empowerment of women. Thanking all the members, he assured that the government will consider these suggestions positively and take necessary steps. He said that the state government wants to create such a social environment for women, where they can get respect, security and equal opportunities.

Speaking on the issue of safety of women and children, the Deputy Chief Minister said that many special campaigns are being run in the state. He informed that under “Operation Muskaan”, 14 campaigns were conducted between July 2015 to February 2026, through which 42,594 missing children were traced across the state.

Apart from this, through “Operation Shodh” campaign, success has been achieved in finding 5,066 women and 2,771 children. This operation is being carried out specifically for the purpose of search and rehabilitation of missing persons. The state government has also made many institutional arrangements to resolve issues related to women. “Missing Cells” are actively functioning in all the districts of Maharashtra.

Along with this, 51 “Bharosa Cells” have been established in the state to solve the problems of women. Through these centres, services related to legal aid, counseling and security are provided to women.
