Religion debate broke out on Shahrukh’s generosity, director gave a befitting reply to trolls after helping Marathi film

New Delhi . After giving financial support to Marathi film Deool Band 2, actor Shah Rukh Khan has once again come into the center of discussion on social media. Some social media users raised questions regarding relief in payment related to the film’s Digital Cinema Package (DCP), linking it to religious perspective. However, the film’s director Pravin Tarde responded to these reactions and said that helping an artist should not be seen through the lens of religion or politics.

According to the film’s director, his team was preparing for the release of the film with a limited budget. The total cost of preparing the DCP was far beyond their capacity and it was not possible to pay the entire amount immediately. In such a situation, he contacted Shahrukh Khan’s company and informed about his financial situation. The director says that after watching the film, Shahrukh’s team described it as positive, after which the actor agreed to release the film first and pay later without any delay.

The director said that the decision was taken purely in the spirit of professional cooperation and helping each other in the film industry. According to him, helping a film get released on time is a positive initiative and it is not appropriate to link it with religious identity. He said that if a person helps with a big heart, his appreciation should not be withheld just because his religion is different.

He also clarified that publicly thanking Shahrukh Khan has nothing to do with his personal ideology or any religious viewpoint. According to him, appreciating good work is normal human behavior and should not be made a subject of any ideological debate. The director said that any person should be evaluated by his behavior and spirit of cooperation and not by his religious identity.

This is not the first time this issue has been discussed. Earlier too, the director had mentioned Shah Rukh Khan’s help in an interview, following which similar reactions had emerged on social media. Even at that time, he had clarified that the cooperation received in delivering the film to the audience on time was important for him and in the same spirit he had expressed his gratitude to the actor.

Amidst all this development, Deul Bandh 2 has performed remarkably at the box office. The film has made its place among the successful films of Marathi cinema by doing good business in the domestic and international markets. Its commercial success has also underlined the growing acceptance and audience interest of regional films.

  • Despite the ongoing debate on social media, people associated with the film say that the purpose of cinema is to unite people, not to divide them on the basis of religion or identity. He believes that collaboration and professional support in the film industry should be viewed in a positive light. In such cases, it would be more appropriate to consider personal goodwill and creative cooperation in the interest of art and industry rather than making it a matter of dispute.
