Renault Bridger Concept SUV: Image Gallery

Renault today unveiled its Bridger concept for its upcoming sub-4 metre SUV at its Strategy Day conference. The French car brand also announced that the development and design for this upcoming Bridger concept-based SUV will be carried out by Renault’s Indian team. At the event, Renault unveiled the SUV concept, and this is what the SUV looks like.

Before we get into the details of the design and the image gallery, it should be noted that the upcoming Bridger-based SUV is based on the R-GMP architecture, which is actually a platform derived from the CMF-B platform. The R-GMP takes much of its hardware from the CMF-B platform. However, Renault has removed its entire electrical and electronics (E&E) architecture and replaced it with a new one.

The electrical and electronics in the new platform are much more advanced and capable of hosting many of the latest technologies. It would also offer a high level of localisation, which would help Renault keep the prices in check.

The first thing you notice on the Bridger concept is the front grille. It gets a very thick and wide grille at the front with LED DRLs that are inspired by the Renault Boreal SUV. The triangular design of the LED DRLs gives the SUV a distinct look.

The headlamps on the Bridger concept are sleek rectangular units that are well integrated within the grille.

We also see an illuminated Renault badge on the nose of the SUV.

The bumper of the Bridger concept is upright with minimal character lines. The lower part of the bumper is where we see the faux skid plates and the lower air dam.

Coming to the side, you notice the boxy design of the Bridger SUV. The boxy design is what helps it retain its SUV character.

We also see thick black claddings around the wheel arches and machine-cut alloy wheels, which are unlikely to make their way to the production version.

The door handles on the Bridger concept are also similar to the Duster. The rear door handles are integrated with the C-pillar and give the SUV a two-door look.

The top half of the concept is finished in gloss black and we also see roof rails here. While the concept doesn’t have a sunroof, we hope to see one in the production version as it is a sought-after feature among buyers in this segment.

As we move to the rear, you notice the defined character lines on the rear fender. They add width to the vehicle and give the Bridger an SUV-like stance.

At the rear, we see vertically stacked LED tail lamps. There is a muscular-looking bumper, and we also see a spare wheel mounted on the tailgate like many SUVs.

It needs to be seen whether Renault will retain the spare wheel in this position in the production version or not.

We also see the Bridger concept badge on the tailgate of the SUV. Bridger is the name of the concept, and the actual name of the production version will be different.

The Bridger concept is being developed as a true multi-energy vehicle. What this means is that the Bridger will be offered with petrol, turbo petrol, hybrid and even an EV powertrain.

The Bridger is being developed in India, and the launch is expected to happen by the festive season next year.
