Renault ready to explode! ‘This’ special SUV will soon be introduced in petrol and EV options
Renault It is gearing up to launch its new SUV, ‘Bridger’ in India in 2027. This car is considered to be particularly important for the company, as Renault aims to strengthen its position in the Indian market through it. This SUV is going to be very important not only for the domestic Indian market, but also in terms of exports.
The Bridger SUV will be based on the company’s new ‘RGMP’ platform; This platform is specially designed keeping in mind the needs of the Indian market. A feature of this platform is that it can be offered with a variety of ‘powertrain’ (engine) options such as petrol, CNG, hybrid and electric.

What are the plans for the engine and EV?
The Renault Bridger will initially be launched with a petrol engine option. It is expected to be offered with both a 1.2-litre ‘naturally aspirated’ petrol engine and a 1.2-litre ‘turbo-petrol’ engine. An important feature of this is that the turbo-petrol engine will be manufactured locally, i.e. in India; This will help keep the cost of the vehicle within reach and also boost local manufacturing. As for the EV version, it is planned to be launched after some time. It will be Renault’s first electric car in India and will be set to compete with models like the ‘Tata Punch EV’.
What will the design and dimensions be like?
In Renault’s vehicle lineup, the Bridger will be positioned below the ‘Duster’. It will be a ‘sub-4-metre’ (less than 4-metre long) SUV, putting it squarely in the ‘compact SUV’ segment. Talking about the design, the car is expected to be very stylish and loud, just like the ‘concept model’ that was showcased earlier. Despite being compact in size, the car’s road presence is expected to be as powerful and impressive as a typical SUV.

Features and Platform Highlights
The ‘RGMP’ platform is Bridger’s biggest strength. Since the platform is capable of handling different fuel options, the company will be able to launch different variants of cars based on the same base model. Moreover, Renault is also planning to use the same platform for the ‘next-generation’ models of its other vehicles like ‘Kiger’ and ‘Triber’.
The Bridger is expected to include modern amenities, plenty of cabin space and state-of-the-art technology; Due to which this car will stand as a strong competitor in its segment.
Renault’s flagship strategy for India
Renault is now looking at India as a key global market. Bridger is a very important component of this new strategic approach. Along with the new ‘Duster’ model and its 7-seater version, the ‘Bridger’ will further strengthen the company’s lineup.
By emphasizing local production, Renault is trying to make its vehicles more affordable; By this they are trying to attract a large segment of customers to them.
