Restrictions continue in Kashmir; schools closed in Poonch, Rajouri, traffic diverted
The authorities have decided to continue precautionary restrictions in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday to maintain peace and prevent any untoward incidents.
Apart from all ten districts of the Kashmir Valley, restrictions have also been imposed in the twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri in the Jammu province, where some religious organisations have called for a strike against the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
A senior official told the International Business Times that the restrictions will remain in force across the Kashmir Valley and in certain parts of the Jammu province to prevent any untoward incidents following calls by various religious groups to hold protests.

The decision to continue the restrictions has been taken in view of the prevailing situation and to ensure that law and order is maintained across the Valley and sensitive areas of the Jammu province.
“Restrictions will continue as a precautionary measure. The situation is being closely monitored, and necessary measures are in place to maintain peace,” the senior official said, adding that security forces are manning sensitive locations while senior officers are reviewing the ground situation to prevent any escalation.
