Revolt in AIADMK? Palaniswami kept stopping, CV Shanmugam supported Vijay
Chief Minister Vijay C Joseph, who was worried about the support of every MLA, can now comfortably run the government for 5 years. They will not be afraid of minority. A faction of the All India Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has announced its support. This faction is being led by CV Shanmugam. It is being claimed that around 30 MLAs are with him.
CV Shanmugam has claimed that he has majority in the party. He has announced support to the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) led government in Tamil Nadu. CV Shanmugam said that most of the party members rejected the proposal to form the government with Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). AIADMK itself was established in opposition to DMK.

CV Shanmugam, Leader, AIADMK:-
We accept the public’s decision. The public has decided to make Vijay the Chief Minister. We congratulate CM Vijay and extend full support to his TVK government.
What was CV Shanmugam’s concern?
CV Shanmugam has said that the party has been doing politics against DMK for the last 53 years. In such a situation, forming government with the help of DMK will weaken the party.
CV Shanmugam, Leader, AIADMK:-
If we form an alliance with DMK then AIADMK party will be destroyed. The members did not accept it. Therefore, we have decided to support TVK which wins the elections.
Palaniswami kept watching, AIADMK got divided
According to sources, a resolution was passed by majority in the meeting of MLAs that AIDMK will now contest all the future elections alone. There will be no alliance. Preparations will be made to strengthen the party again.

What is the challenge facing CV Shanmugam now?
Former minister SP Velumani has been made the AIADMK assembly leader, while C Vijayabaskar has been appointed party whip, Shanmugam said. He has already submitted this letter to the Protem Speaker.
Why did the disintegration occur?
47 AIADMK candidates had won in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. AK Palaniswami is said to have the support of about 20-22 MLAs. CV Shanmugam says his group has majority. There has been a big difference of opinion between the two groups. CV Shanmugam alleged that Palaniswami wanted to form a government in alliance with the DMK.
Why is there relief for Vijay?
TVK Party won 108 seats in the election and became the largest party. There are 234 assembly seats in Tamil Nadu. At least 118 seats are required for majority. Vijay does not have this data. With the help of Congress, VCK, Left parties and some local parties, Vijay took oath as the Chief Minister. Now on May 13, he has to face the trust vote in the Assembly.
The trust vote has become easier for Vijay with CV Shanmugam’s announcement of support. His group’s MLAs will soon meet Vijay and extend formal support.
