Revolutionary Guard hits back at Trump’s threat, ‘The Strait of Hormuz is now closed only for enemies’
New Delhi. Tension is at its peak between Iran and America regarding the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi have given strong statements regarding this strategic waterway, which have come after a 48-hour ultimatum by Donald Trump. The Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) has given a clear warning that if the US targets Iran’s power plants or energy infrastructure, Iran will completely close the Strait of Hormuz.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said the strait would remain closed until Iranian power plants destroyed by the US were rebuilt. The IRGC has indicated that if their power plants are attacked, US-linked energy, technology and water infrastructure in the Gulf countries could also be attacked.
Abbas Araghchi’s statement
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has stressed that the Strait of Hormuz is “open”, but it is closed to ships of Iran’s enemies (US and Israel). He wrote on social media platform ‘X’ that the strait is not closed, but the movement of ships is less due to fear of insurance companies. He said that it will remain closed to the enemy who is attacking us. Araghchi blamed the US for the tension, saying it was a “war of choice” launched by the US.
Donald Trump warned on March 21 that if the Strait of Hormuz was not fully opened within 48 hours, the US would destroy Iran’s power plants. On this, Iran has retaliated, due to which the global oil supply (20 percent of which comes through this route) is in big danger.
