For the first time after 2016, an increase of 17 percent was seen in the child birth rate in the country. All this has been possible because of China's cash scheme. Actually, the Chinese government is giving cash to people to increase the birth rate. The effect of this policy is also visible now.

According to recently released government data, 1050 more babies were born in China's Hubei province in 2024 than in 2023. This figure has brought a ray of hope for China, which is currently struggling with the increasing elderly population and decreasing birth rate. Both these situations had emerged as major challenges for China's economic development.

Companies giving cash rewards
According to a report by South China Morning Post, thanks to the cash scheme of local governments and major companies, laughter is echoing in the courtyards of China's Tiananmen city. The report says that China's famous electric vehicle manufacturer Xpeng is offering 30,000 Yuan cash to its employees for having a third child.

Xpeng founder He Xiaopeng announced the cash incentive in a video clip posted on Chinese social media platform Weibo last week. According to financial information terminal Wind, the company employed more than 13,000 people as of June.

Earlier, a report in Hubei Daily had said that 6530 children were born in China between January and November last year in 2024, while 910 children were born during the same period in 2023. That means there has been a 16 percent jump in the child birth rate in 2024 compared to 2023.
At the same time, some companies are also giving a coupon of Rs 1.20 lakh to the employees who become parents for the third time to buy a house, while some are giving lump sum cash amount. Not only this, a subsidy of 1000 yuan is also being offered for the care of the child for three years.
