2. Dead body found in the canal, scooter lying on the bank: On June 10, Monu’s body was recovered from Asalwas canal. His scooter was found on the banks of the canal. In the initial investigation, no external injury marks were found on the body, hence the case looked like an accident.
3. Family’s suspicion changed the entire investigation: After post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family, but the family raised serious questions on the death. Based on their suspicion, the police started a technical and intelligence investigation by adding sections of murder.
4. The conspiracy came to light just a few days after the marriage: Investigation revealed that Monu was married recently. Police claim that his wife Tannu, resident of Kasauli village, was not happy with this marriage and she already had a love affair with a young man, Sonu.
5. Wife called, accused were already waiting: According to the police, on the night of June 8, Tannu called Monu to Kasauli village. Hariom and Aman were already present there on Sonu’s request, who together committed the crime.
6. Attack by pressing mouth and nose: According to Bawal DSP Sheoran, the accused caught hold of Monu and pressed his mouth and nose. They thought he was dead or completely unconscious. After this he was thrown into the canal.
7. How did the death happen? FSL will report clearly: Police say that the final medical report is still awaited. The FSL report will reveal whether Monu died due to suffocation or drowning after being thrown into the canal.
8. Two arrested including wife, two accused absconding: The police arrested the wife Tannu and Hariom and presented them in the court, from where both were sent on police remand. Sonu and his partner Aman are still absconding.
