Ricochet expresses his opinion on fans' hostile behavior towards Samantha Irwin
Washington. Washington. WWE fans were shocked when it was revealed that Samantha Irwin has left WWE. She was one of the fastest rising ring announcers who rose to fame for her work with the Connecticut-based wrestling promotion. Many fans were upset with her decision and even targeted her fiancé for her decision to leave. Amidst this controversy, Ricochet talked about the fans' disappointment, saying that he broke a rule, due to which the fans are upset. Speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Ricochet opened up about Samantha Irwin's exit from the ring announcer role with WWE. The former WWE star believes that her fiance has broken a wrestling tradition, which is why fans are upset with her. “I think in that production, people have their own roles, and that's what I was telling him, I think he broke tradition. That's why people are a little upset. Because, again, how long can Fink keep doing this? How long has Lillian been doing this? The fact is she only did it for four years and then she realized it's not what I was born to do.” Ricochet said.
When it was mentioned that some fans felt betrayed by Irwin's choice, Ricochet responded that his fiancée, Samantha Irwin, broke long-term tradition and fans don't want a good thing to end.
“I think he broke the tradition of wrestling. Again, you have guys who have been at it forever. Look at Rey Mysterio and AJ Styles, because they've been doing it for so long, and they're still are in it, they're still doing it. So I think when wrestling fans find something that makes them feel good and makes what they like to watch better, they'll want it forever. I watch One Piece. It's 1,100 episodes. I don't want it to stop. Again, I think he kind of broke the wrestling tradition. Can’t blame,” Ricochet said.
