In the 28th match of IPL 2026 played at Eagan Gardens, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Rajasthan Royals by 4 wickets. KKR achieved the target of 156 runs given by Rajasthan Royals by losing 6 wickets. KKR vice-captain Rinku Singh led the team to victory by playing an unbeaten inning of 53 runs in 34 balls. Whereas Anukul Roy contributed 29 unbeaten runs.

KKR had a very bad start

Kolkata Knight Riders had a very bad start. On the very first ball of the innings, Joffre Archer bowled Tim Seaford on the score of zero. After this, captain Ajinkya Rahane also got caught by Dhruv Jurel behind the wicket on the ball of Nandre Berger without opening the account. KKR had lost 2 wickets for 5 runs at one time.

Batting first, Rajasthan Royals scored 155 runs for 9 wickets. Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaivasal scored the most runs for the team. For Rajasthan, Vaibhav scored 46 runs in 28 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes. Whereas Yashasvi Jaiswal played an inning of 39 runs with 4 fours and 2 sixes in 29 balls for Rajasthan Royals. Varun Chakraborty and Karthik Tyagi took 3-3 wickets for Kolkata Knight Riders.
