Rise in silver prices, 10 countries have huge reserves, where is India?

New Delhi. Silver prices have been rising in recent months. Due to increasing demand and limited supply, silver prices are continuously breaking records. Its increasing use in jewellery, electronics, solar energy and medicines is pushing its prices further higher.

Although many countries around the world are producing silver, the largest producer is Mexico. According to the World Silver Survey 2025, Mexico produces about 24% of the world’s total silver. With the help of mining companies like Fresnillo and Penasquito, this country produces silver through advanced technology.

At the same time, China is at second place in this list. Here silver is mainly extracted as a by-product of large base-metal mines. China is not only a producer but also a major consumer in the world, which uses it extensively in electronics and industrial products.

Where is India?

India is not among the top 10 countries in silver production, but it is one of the world’s largest consumers. Silver is demanded in large quantities in the Indian market for jewelery and industrial needs. Therefore India depends on imports to a great extent. India’s production ranks approximately 11th globally, but its role in consumption is very important.
