Suresh Raina predicts Rishabh Pant could bag Rs 25-30 crore in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, anticipating teams eager to secure the star wicketkeeper-batsman and a dynamic captain.
Chennai Super Kings legend and former India cricketer Suresh Raina has predicted Rs 25-30 crore windfall for Rishabh Pant ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction that is going to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24 and 25. The IPL 2025 Mega Auction is on the cards and already creating a buzz where total 574 players, including 48 capped Indians and 193 capped overseas along with many other rising superstars will try their luck to get into one of the most talked sporting event around the globe.
Rishabh Pant the most expensive player in IPL?
This is for the very first time where there will be two sets of marquee players. Rishabh Pant is in the first set and will be on every team’s wish list. He is expected to breach Rs 20 crore mark and may also become the most expensive players sold in IPL till date.
Currently, the top two slots are grabbed by two front line Australian bowlers Mitchel Starc and Pat Cummins. They cost Rs 24.75 crore and Rs 20.50 crore to their respective teams.
Raina expressed his thoughts about the star Indian wicket keeper batsman Rishabh Pant and predicted he might go for 25- 30 crore. Speaking to The Times Of India, he said: “Rishabh is (DC) gun Captain and wicketkeeper batsman that has the potential to win IPL tittle with any team he associates. If you look at his brand value he is even good for brand endorsement…so he should get 25-30 crore and whatever he deserves”.
Rishabh Pant journey in IPL so far
Rishabh Pant kicked off his carrier with Delhi Daredevils at present Delhi Capitals in 2016 and got everyone’s attention with effective and unorthodox batting style. Resulting, Delhi Capitals retained him in 2018 and 2022 where he had his salary of 16 crore per year for the next three edition of IPL.
Pant earlier captained Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021 and 2022. There are many teams such Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru who are in search of present and future captains with comparatively bigger purse than any other teams.
