Rishabh Pant out of ODI series against New Zealand, BCCI announces replacement

Rishabh Pant ruled out of ODI seriesWicketkeeper Rishabh Pant was injured during India’s practice session at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara on Saturday afternoon. Due to which he had to be out of the ODI series against New Zealand. BCCI has announced his replacement. Wicketkeeper batsman Dhruv Jurel has been included in the team in place of Pant.

BCCI said that Rishabh Pant suddenly felt pain in the lower part of his right abdomen while batting in the nets on Saturday afternoon. He was immediately taken for an MRI scan and the BCCI medical team discussed his clinical and radiological findings in detail with an expert. Pant has been diagnosed with a side strain (oblique muscle tear) and hence has been ruled out of the ODI series. The men’s selection committee has included Dhruv Jurel in the team in place of Pant, and Jurel has joined the team.
