Rishabh Pant leaves the field after getting injured in the RCB vs LSG match

In a big blow for the Lucknow Super Giants, their captain Rishabh Pant left the field after just facing three deliveries against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League 2026. The southpaw didn’t open up his account and was hit on the elbow while trying to hit Josh Hazlewood’s delivery for a big shot.

Pant came to the middle in the fifth over after Rasikh Salam dismissed Aiden Markram on the last delivery of the previous over. He tried to deposit the second ball into the midwicket stands but missed it.

Pant tried to swing across the line again but was struck on the left elbow. The batter was in discomfort.

On the fifth ball of the fifth over, the LSG leader repeated his habit of playing a reckless shot but got a bottom edge. He retired hurt after failing to recover from the pain despite getting the magic spray treatment from the physio.

Rishabh hasn’t been at his best as a batter and captain in the 19th season of the tournament. His team has won two matches and lost two, with the top-order failing in almost all the games. Pant’s only fifty of the season so far came against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in a winning cause.

In the other contests, he has been a walking wicket, and the pressure is increasing on him, considering he was bought for INR 27 crore in the mega auction in 2025.

LSG were ordinary in the previous, and the situation is not looking good in IPL 2026 as well.
