New Delhi: Wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant has been appointed as the new captain of Lucknow Super Giants. Team owner Sanjiv Goenka announced the decision during a press conference. Pant gave his reaction after becoming the captain and said, “I have learned a lot from all my captains. From Rohit Sharma, I learned how to take care of a player and I want to implement it as my captain. ” Pant further said, “MS Dhoni's words are very influential. He always said to focus on the process, the results will follow and I will adopt this in my game.”

Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjiv Goenka praised Pant's captaincy, saying, “I completely believe that Rishabh Pant will become the greatest captain of the IPL. Currently, people consider MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma as the most successful captains of the IPL.” But in the next 10-12 years this list will be 'Mahi, Rohit and Rishabh Pant'.”
Captains of seven teams have been declared
At the same time, captains of seven teams have been declared so far for IPL 2025: Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant, Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill, Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson, Mumbai Indians Captain Hardik Pandya, Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer and Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins. Now the captain of RCB, KKR and Delhi Capitals is yet to be announced.
