Ritesh Deshmukh told that he had not initially approached Salman Khan for this film. All this happened by chance. When both were together on the occasion of New Year, Salman Khan asked Ritesh about the shooting of his film. Ritesh told, “He asked me when I am starting the shooting. I said it is starting this month. Then he jokingly asked ‘Which role am I doing?'” When Ritesh said that he has not thought of any role for him in the film, Salman Khan immediately replied – “No, no… the film cannot be made without me, I will have to be in it.”

Ritesh admitted that Salman’s familiarity and excitement impressed him and he felt that perhaps he had not even thought about it before. After this, Salman Khan was included in the film for a special cameo role.

This is not the first time that Salman Khan has given a special appearance in Riteish Deshmukh’s films. Even before this he had done cameos in ‘Lai Bhari’ and Veda. Reminiscing about this, Ritesh said, “When I made ‘Lai Bhari’, Salman himself had said that he wanted to do a scene. Whereas during ‘Ved’, when I called him, he just asked how many days the shooting was. I said two days and he immediately said yes.”
