Riyan Parag is happy after scoring 20 runs? Returned to the pavilion after throwing wickets against LSG
In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Rajasthan Royals team is in the top-3. The team is winning only because of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Dhruv Jurel. With this trio getting out cheaply, RR looks to be in trouble as captain Ryan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer are struggling with poor form. On Wednesday (22 April) against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Yashasvi, Vaibhav and Dhruv returned to the pavilion on 32 runs only. After this, responsible batting was required from Ryan but he kept walking after throwing away his wicket.
Hetmyer and Ryan made RR recover from the initial shock by making a partnership of 30 runs. It seemed that he would take the team to a big score, then Ryan attempted a helicopter shot on the length ball of Prince Yadav’s stump line, which went straight to Nicholas Pooran standing at long on. Ryan was out after scoring 20 runs in 19 balls. After Ryan returned to the pavilion, Hetmyer also could not last long and RR’s score became 77/5.

Ryan failed in the sixth consecutive match
Ryan has been able to score only 69 runs in 7 matches in IPL 2026. In the opening match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), he returned unbeaten after scoring 14 runs in 11 balls. Leaving aside this match, Ryan has proved to be a bad flop in 6 consecutive matches. He has touched the 20-run mark twice but has never been able to go beyond it. He has been out in single digit scores 3 times. Ryan’s poor form was being hidden when the top-3 was playing but now his lack of runs with the bat is costing the team dearly.
