In a major political development in Bihar, senior Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and party spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari has resigned from the party, alleging that there is “no place for dedicated and loyal workers” in the organisation. His resignation has triggered fresh speculation about his possible entry into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Tiwari launched a sharp attack on the party’s current leadership, claiming that Tejashwi Yadav is surrounded by people who are weakening the party from within, using the metaphor that he is “surrounded by termites.” He also alleged that the party had been “hijacked” and that loyal leaders were no longer being heard.
According to reports, Tiwari’s differences with some senior RJD leaders had been growing for some time. He claimed that despite raising his concerns with the leadership, no meaningful action was taken. Reports also suggest that several party leaders attempted to persuade him to reconsider his decision, but he remained firm on resigning.
His resignation comes at a politically significant time and is being viewed as a setback for the RJD, particularly as Bihar’s political landscape remains highly competitive.
Meanwhile, speculation about Tiwari joining the BJP is circulating in political circles, but as of now, there has been no official announcement from either Mrityunjay Tiwari or the BJP confirming such a move.
