Famous bhajan singer Dhanraj Joshi died after his car overturned on National Highway-27 in Dabok police station area of Udaipur. They were returning from bhajan evening. The driver was injured in the accident, while the son and his companion had alighted first.
Udaipur: Famous bhajan singer of Mewar region, Dhanraj Joshi died in a tragic road accident in the early hours of Thursday in Udaipur district of Rajasthan. This accident happened near Dabok police station area on National Highway-27 at around 5 in the morning, when his car went out of control and overturned.
According to the police, some other people including the driver were present in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Due to sudden loss of balance, the car collided with the divider and overturned, resulting in a serious accident.
Accident happened while returning from bhajan evening
According to the information, Dhanraj Joshi along with his friends was returning after attending the Bhajan evening program organized in Saiman village near Haldighati. He was a resident of Barwai village of Chittorgarh district.
On the way, some companions and their son had got down in Udaipur for some work, after which only the driver and Dhanraj Joshi were traveling ahead in the car.
Car went out of control and overturned in Dabok area
The car suddenly lost its balance on the highway between Daroli village of Udaipur and the airport. The vehicle climbed the divider and overturned several times. The accident was so severe that people nearby immediately informed the police.
Dabok police station reached the spot and both the injured were taken to the hospital. Doctors declared bhajan singer Dhanraj Joshi dead, while the driver is undergoing treatment.

Dhanraj Joshi was born in a musical family. He was educated till eighth grade. It is said that he performed on stage for the first time during his school days.
There is a tradition of bhajan and folk music in his family also. His mother and maternal grandparents were also bhajan singers. He has four sisters in his family, who also sing bhajans. He has two sons and a daughter.
