New Delhi: A horrific road accident occurred in Karnataka early Thursday morning. A private sleeper bus collided with a truck. The collision was so severe that the bus, full of passengers, caught fire. Nine people were killed in the fire, and several others were injured, some critically. The death toll may rise due to the critical condition of some of the injured. The accident took place on National Highway-48.

Chaos ensued after the collision.

The bus, carrying 32 passengers from Bengaluru to Shivamogga, met withane accident midway through its journey. The sleeper bus was supposed to cover a distance of 300 kilometres. Around 3 AM on Thursday, the bus collided with a truck near a divider.

Most of the passengers were fast asleep at the time. The accident was so severe that the bus immediately caught fire. Within moments, the bus was engulfed in flames. Nine passengers died on the spot. The sight of the accident was terrifying. The injured were immediately admitted to the hospital. Some of the injured are in critical condition. According to eyewitnesses, the death toll may increase.
