Road accidents reduced by 23% in Noida in 3 months, reverse trend in Ghaziabad

The recent report on road safety in Uttar Pradesh has presented an interesting and worrying picture. In the first three months of the year 2026, Noida has achieved success in reducing road accidents and deaths. Whereas the opposite situation has been seen in Ghaziabad. According to the district-wise report of the UP Transport Department, the performance of both the cities has been opposite to each other.

Between January and March 2026, the number of deaths in road accidents in Noida declined by 13.2% from 121 to 105. At the same time, a huge decline of 23% was recorded in the total accidents, which came down from 300 to 231. The number of injured has also decreased by 17.4%, which is considered a positive sign in terms of road safety.

On the other hand, the situation of road accidents in Ghaziabad remained worrying. The number of deaths here increased by 16.7% from 90 to 105. The total number of accidents also increased from 248 to 252. Although a slight 4.3% decline has been recorded in the number of injured, the increasing deaths are a matter of concern for the administration.

According to GB Nagar ARTO (Enforcement) Udit Narayan, continuous awareness campaigns and strict enforcement of traffic rules in Noida have brought about this positive change. He said that the administration aims to reduce road accidents and deaths by 50% and for this, campaigns are being intensified.
