Roasted gram adulterated with chemicals busted, 30 tonnes of gram kept in 750 bags recovered
Gorakhpur. The Food Safety Department has raided Maa Tara Traders and recovered 30 tonnes of roasted gram kept in 750 sacks. A case has come to light by adding chemicals to these roasted gram to make them look shiny. Investigation revealed that a chemical used to color cloth and leather was known as Armine-O and can be dangerous for the liver and kidneys.

In this action, the price of adulterated gram is said to be around Rs 18 lakh. These adulterated gram were brought from Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The Food Safety Department has seized the recovered adulterated gram and investigation is ongoing in this matter. This raid was conducted in Lal Diggi area of Rajghat, where the department found a storage of adulterated gram.
