This is how foreign tourists are robbed in Pakistan, they do not complain due to fear, now the police is giving its clarification.
Karachi: Robbers disguised as police officers robbed four foreign tourists in the Defense Housing Authority (DHA) area in Karachi, Pakistan's Geo News reported on Tuesday, quoting local officials. Khayaban-e-Mujahid was robbed of US$1,080 while visiting Dolmen Mall in Clifton to buy mobile phone SIM cards from tourists from Poland on Sunday, police said. However, after the incident the tourists left without filing a police report. Police became active after the matter came to light.
Police confirmed the incident and said that they have recorded the statements of the tourists, but refused to register any formal complaint. According to information received from Geo News, officials are currently working to identify the robbers using CCTV footage.
After the matter came to light, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, reacting to the incident, sought a report from the Additional Inspector General of Karachi Police. Condemning the robbery, he said that robbing foreigners in the country harms the reputation and dignity of the country. The Chief Minister has asked the AIGP to catch those responsible and take action.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah also ordered the police to ensure that strict action is taken against all the accused. He also stressed the need for “Safe Cities Project” to improve monitoring of roads and major highways.

Let us tell you that even before this, Karachi Police arrested two persons in Surjani Town, who were accused of robbing people while pretending to be police officers. According to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), the suspects are believed to be part of a six-member gang that committed late night robberies. The arrested suspects, identified as Arbaaz and Junaid, have confessed to breaking into several houses. They reportedly entered homes around 4 a.m., detained family members and stole valuables. During the raid, the police recovered a pistol, mobile phones, jewellery, a stolen LCD, a DVR, cash and other items from the suspects. The SSP also informed that a total of nine cases have been registered against him at Surjani Town police station.
