Robin Uthappa breaks his silence on EPFO ​​fraud case…has challenged companies in court, know the whole story

Sports Desk: An arrest warrant was issued against former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa. He was accused of fraud in Employees Provident Fund (EPFO) deposits. After which he issued a statement regarding this on Saturday. Uthappa has said that after giving loans to Strawberry Lenseria Private Limited, Centaurus Lifestyle Brands Private Limited and Berries Fashion House, he was made a director in 2018-19.

Regarding this, Robin Uthappa said that due to his busyness and lack of knowledge about running the company, he has nothing to do with the work. Due to failure to repay the loan, Uthappa has taken legal action.

Robin Uthappa said on “I was appointed director in 2018-19 because of my financial contribution in the form of loans to these companies.”

He further wrote- “I had no active role in the functioning, nor was I involved in the day-to-day functioning of the businesses. Given my busy schedule as a professional cricketer, TV pageant and commentator, I neither had the time nor the expertise to take part in their operations. “I don’t oversee the operations of any of the other companies I have funded to date.”

Robin Uthappa said, “Sadly, these companies failed to return the money lent to me. Due to this I had to take legal action, which is currently pending in the court. I had also resigned from my directorship many years ago. When provident fund officials issued notices demanding payment of dues, my legal team responded. It was told that I had no role in these companies and the companies themselves provided documents confirming my non-involvement.”

Uthappa, who lives in Dubai, said, “Despite this, the provident fund officials have continued the proceedings. My legal advisors will take necessary steps to resolve this matter in the coming days. I would also like to request the media to please present complete facts and confirm the authenticity of the information being shared.”

For your information, let us tell you that after the arrest warrant was issued in the EPFO ​​case, the police went to an address located on Wheeler Road in Pulakeshinagar, Bengaluru. Uthappa lived there till a year ago. He now lives in Dubai.
