Rohit will play in Ranji after nine years, got place in the team for the match against Jammu and Kashmir

– Jaiswal named in Mumbai team for Ranji Trophy match

Mumbai. Rohit Sharma has been included in Mumbai's 17-man squad for the next Ranji Trophy match against Jammu and Kashmir. This match will be played at the BKC ground of Mumbai Cricket Association from Thursday.

The Sanjay Patil-led Mumbai selection committee announced a star-studded squad led by Ajinkya Rahane after Indian captain Rohit Sharma confirmed his availability for the crucial match.

Rohit Sharma had earlier played his last Ranji match against Uttar Pradesh in November 2015. However, this time due to poor form he has had to turn to Ranji games. The decision comes in the wake of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ordering cricketers to make best efforts to play the remaining domestic first-class season.

Not only this, young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal is also expected to join the Mumbai Ranji team soon. Rohit will start the innings with this young player. Whereas Rahane, Shreyas Iyer and Shivam Dubey will strengthen the middle order. Experienced bowler Shardul Thakur has also been included in the team.
