Speaking to ‘Star Sports’ after the match, Kumble said, “It seems that Rohit Sharma has come in his 2.0 avatar. Seeing his innings reminded me of the golden days of his career. The confidence and rhythm in which he was seen was amazing.” He further said that it is not easy to hit sixes like this against bowlers like Varun Chakravarthy, Sunil Narine and Blessing Muzarabani, but Rohit made it very easy.

Kumble also praised Rohit’s fitness. He said, “He has worked a lot on his fitness. Usually it takes a few days to get the rhythm after the break, but Rohit did wonders as soon as he came.” In the end he said, “This inning was brilliant. The way sixes were being hit, it is clear that this new avatar of Rohit is an alarm bell for other teams.
