Rohit Sharma achieved this rare feat despite double failures in the Chennai test

Ever since Rohit Sharma came into play, it wasn’t innings that he had pictured during second innings but Indian captain still could add feathers to his hat as he was the first captain to score 1000 runs in global cricket on Friday.

After having risen from ashes through R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja today India’s batting attack dwindled soon after their brilliant recovery; this time it was home side who set up a huge score of three hundred seventy-six runs and were disposed off by Bangladesh.

However, Bumrah along with Siraj and Akash Deep will carry out duties with similar spirit destroying all Bangladeshi batsmen while bowling them for just149 runs thus ruining any hope of using good start.

Once more assuming the role of a batsman,, Indian captain Rohit Sharma hoped to make amends with the bat but failed again scoring only 5 runs before bowing out from the crease to Taskin Ahmed.

This would be only the fourth occasion in Rohit’s Test career where he registered single digit scores in both innings of a match.

Nonetheless, despite having such a low score, Rohit still achieved another milestone by becoming only the fifth player and first ever captain to total 1000 runs in international cricket within 2024.

This is also the 10th incident of this nature for him during his international playing days representing India as Team India captain.

Due to Rohit’s poor form and veteran star Virat Kohli’s dismal performance too, a social media battle of fans has exploded with passionate followers of both batsman engaged in friendly fire among themselves. The moment came especially after Rohit looked to be really irritated by Kohli’s dismissal and the DRS missed call on his behalf.

However, there is something that every Indian fan can agree upon and appreciate in Jasprit Bumrah’s fiery form today against those visitors.

Earlier, during the first test match held between India vs Bangladesh, Bumrah could have been well understood only by an out of sorts Bangladeshi batting line-up as Indian took full control.

Bumrah (4/50) once more performed magic alongside Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep (2/19) and Ravindra Jadeja while Bangladesh were all out on just 149 runs.
