Rohit Sharma attends both of Shikhar Dhawan’s weddings; Virat Kohli skips reception despite being in India, sends wishes

Of love, laughter and happiness ever after,  this is what sums up the life of former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan as he got married to his longtime girlfriend Sophie Shine in February 2026 in Delhi. After a quiet and intimate wedding, the couple hosted a glamorous reception, which was attended by Rohit Sharma and his wife, Ritika Sajdeh.

Well, Rohit Sharma is a true friend on and off the field indeed — he had also attended Shikhar’s first wedding and was now part of his second wedding too. Apart from Rohit-Ritika, Yuzvendra Chahal and Shefali Bagga also attended the wedding reception.

On February 22, Shikhar and Shefali shared photos from their reception, and their bridal looks were designed by Manish Malhotra. The fashion designer commented on the post: “Both of you are stunning.”

For the reception, Shikhar Dhawan looked dapper in a classic black tailored suit. The sharp silhouette and monochromatic look gave a modern gentleman vibe. Standing beside Shikhar, Sophie Shine looked ethereal in a pale pink gown-style lehenga. She wore a bralette-style corset with embellishments and stones and posed for a happy photo with former cricketer Suresh Raina and his wife Priyanka Chaudhary.

Yuzvendra Chahal earlier shared pictures from Shikhar Dhawan’s wedding after attending the ceremony. “Mere yaar ki shaadi hai,” he wrote on Instagram. Shikhar Dhawan and Sophie opted for ivory floral ensembles and ditched traditional red and gold for their wedding.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, who are currently in India, did not attend Shikhar’s wedding, but Virat commented on Shikhar Dhawan’s post, writing, “Mubarkaan jatt ji,” congratulating him on the special occasion.

Shikhar Dhawan’s tough phase after divorce from Aesha Mukherji

Shikhar Dhawan and his wife, Aesha Mukherji had married in 2011 and have a son, Zoravar. After the divorce, Shikhar Dhawan said he was neither allowed to meet nor contact his son. Their divorce was confirmed by a Delhi court in 2023. Post his divorce, he endured a tough phase. However, life gave him a second chance, and he met Sophie, they clicked and got married.
