Rohit Sharma Awarded with Padma Shri: Former Indian captain and legendary batsman Rohit Sharma was honored with the country’s fourth highest civilian honor ‘Padma Shri’ on Tuesday (June 23). President Draupadi Murmu presented him this prestigious honor in a ceremony organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. He has been honored for his outstanding contribution to cricket. Rohit was among the 65 celebrities who were honored at the second civil investiture ceremony.

Rohit Sharma could not attend the first investiture ceremony held in May due to his professional and personal commitments. However, on Tuesday he reached Rashtrapati Bhavan with his wife Ritika Sajdeh and took part in the felicitation ceremony. During the ceremony, Ritika was seen proudly watching her husband receive the honour.
Before reaching the stage to receive the honour, Rohit Sharma greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Rohit, seen in an attractive black suit, was seen smiling during the entire ceremony. With the award of Padma Shri, another big achievement was added to his illustrious cricket career.

Former Indian team captain Rohit Sharma now plays only ODI cricket for Team India. He has taken retirement from Test and T20 International. Talking about Rohit Sharma’s career, he has played 67 Tests, 282 ODIs and 159 T20 International matches in his career. In Tests, he has scored 4301 runs with 12 centuries and 18 half-centuries. In ODI, Hitman has scored 11577 runs with 33 centuries and 61 half-centuries. Whereas in T20, Rohit Sharma has scored 4231 runs with the help of 5 centuries and 32 half-centuries.
