Rohit Sharma ignored, Dhoni becomes captain in Kevin Pietersen’s IPL all-time XI

New Delhi: Whenever we talk about great players in the history of the Indian Premier League, Rohit Sharma’s name comes at the top. Rohit, considered the most successful captain of the Indian Premier League, has made Mumbai Indians champion five times. He is known as a brilliant leader and excellent batsman. But former England captain Kevin Pietersen did not include him in his all-time IPL XI, which has sparked a new debate.

In Real Love of Cricket production, Kevin Pietersen along with Jos Buttler have engineered the best playing XI in IPL history. During this time, he was facing the challenge of opening the doors of many legendary players and similarly, Rohit Sharma too was out of his team as a big name.

Chris Gayle, one of the most famous batsmen, was selected among the two batsmen from Virat Kohli, David Warner and Rohit Sharma. Here Pietersen chose Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli without thinking. Gayle’s prototype was dramatic and Kohli’s neutrality was preferred.

The middle order options were even more difficult with big names like AB de Villiers, Suresh Raina, KL Rahul, Glenn Maxwell, Rishabh Pant, Yuvraj Singh and Kieron Pollard present. Pietersen first chose Suresh Raina in whom he was considered the most favorite player of IPL. After this AB de Villiers was included in the team.

According to the captain and the accountant, he chose MS Dhoni and called it a decision without any debate. Dhoni’s team has won the title five times in Chennai Super Kings and Pietersen was at the forefront under his leadership.

He surprised even with his unintentional selection. Andre Russell, Sunil Narine and Ravindra Jadeja got a place in the team, while star players like Hardik Pandya became.

Yuzvendra Chahal was selected as the spinner. Pietersen said that releasing him for Royal Challengers Bangalore was the worst decision.

In fast bowling, he chose Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga, albeit late. Both of them are considered to be one of the deadliest monsters in IPL history.

  • In this way, many big names are included in the list of Kevin Pietersen’s all-time IPL XI but Rohit Sharma’s out-of-discussion has become the biggest topic. It has been mentioned in this selection that on a stage like IPL, great players face the best challenges and every selection definitely brings with it new debates.
