Ranji Trophy News In Hindi: Mumbai Cricket Association on Monday announced its squad for the upcoming Ranji Trophy clash against Jammu and Kashmir. Indian captain Rohit Sharma is set to play in the Ranji Trophy for the first time in 10 years as he has been included in the Ajinkya Rahane-led squad.

Mumbai Cricket Association wrote in a statement, “The Senior Selection Committee of Mumbai Cricket Association comprising of Mr. Sanjay Patil (Chairman), Mr. Ravi Thacker, Mr. Jitendra Thackeray, Mr. Kiran Powar and Mr. Vikrant Yeligetti has selected MCA has selected the following players to represent Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy match to be played against Jammu & Kashmir at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy, BKC, Mumbai.”

Rohit last played in a red-ball tournament in 2015, when he played for Mumbai against Uttar Pradesh. Now he is ready to take the field in the sixth round of Ranji Trophy.

Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal has also been included in the team. The pair of Rohit and Jasiwal can open the innings for Mumbai in the match starting from January 23.

Other Indian international players Shreyas Iyer, Shivam Dubey and Shardul Thakur are also included in the team.

Rohit had recently confirmed that he will play in the sixth round of the domestic tournament during the squad announcement for the Champions Trophy 2025. Asked if he would play the red-ball tournament, Rohit replied, “I will”.

He also said that due to busy schedules, international players do not get time to play domestic cricket. “And then, when you play so much international cricket throughout the year, you need some time as a cricketer to refresh, get your mind right and prepare for the upcoming season,” Rohit said.
