Rohit Sharma trusts bowling more than batting! Gave this big statement about the team

Chennai: India has won the first match in the two-match Test series being played against Bangladesh. Indian bowlers performed brilliantly in this match. India has also benefited a lot from this big win against Bangladesh. Team India has come into a stronger position in the WTC points table. In such a situation, now India's captain Rohit Sharma is focusing on preparing his team around 'strong bowling options' to deal with the challenges coming in the World Test Championship.

India registered a big win with five sessions to spare on the back of all-round performances from veteran Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja along with hundreds from Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant. Rohit said at the post-match presentation ceremony, “We want to build our team around strong bowling options, we have to be ready to face any situation.”

He said, “It does not matter what the conditions are, whether we play in India or outside, we want to make a team accordingly.” The Indian captain said, “Wherever we have played in the last few years, we have been able to use our options well. We have been successful in using both fast bowling and spin options.”

Bangladesh's team was all out for 234 runs while chasing an impossible target of 515 runs to win. Ashwin, who contributed 113 runs with the bat in the first innings, took six wickets for 88 runs in the second innings. Rohit said, “This is a great result for us considering the upcoming matches. We are playing (Test match) after a long time. We came here a week ago and we prepared well. We got the result we wanted.”

The Indian captain is most happy with Pant's memorable comeback in this format. He said, “He has really gone through a very difficult time. The way he faced the difficult times and handled himself was great to see. He made a comeback in the IPL. After that, he was very successful in the T20 World Cup but he likes the Test format the most.”

Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hasan Shanto said that despite the team's defeat, he was impressed with the performance of the fast bowlers. Shanto, who scored the highest 82 runs for his team in the second innings, said, “The positive thing is that the way Hasan, Taskin and Rana bowled in the first two-three hours was really impressive.”

He said, “After this the Indian batsmen batted well. Our bowling has been very good in the last few series.” When asked about his batting in the second innings, he said, “As a batsman, I always try to contribute. I enjoy my batting and try to bat as long as possible without thinking about the result.”
